Robotics and Resilience: Artistic Expression Through Technology

We presented a workshop at WeCon2018 where teens used technology to draw their personal reflections of resilience.

Color is a powerful form of expression and technology is an innovative way to make it come to life. Participants will learn to program NXT Lego Mindstorm robots to draw their own reflections of resilience. Starting with more somber tones and layering on brighter colors and 3D-materials, participants will turn negative thoughts/lines into a positive work of art. At the center of the workshop is the idea that resilience is born out of adapting to dynamic environments and thriving comes with letting go of smaller imperfections to focus on the bigger picture.
